Cozy And Kid-Friendly Christmas Mantel

The stockings were hung by the chimney with…stuffed teddy bears and reindeer!  That’s right folks, our little mantel has gotten all dressed up for Christmas.

Christmas Mantle 2012Since there are oh-so-many Christmas decorations that we ask Annabelle NOT to touch, I wanted the mantel to be decorated with things she could play freely with.  Remember our fall mantel and how Annabelle and the Scarecrow became fast friends?  Well her friends these days consist of teddy bears, reindeer and snowmen all decked out in their holiday finest.

Christmas Mantle Stuffed Animals

Annabelle's Christmas Mantle FriendsI’ve mentioned that I keep the candlesticks out on our mantel all year round and simply switch up the toppers for each season.  (Remember how I had little pumpkins on them for the fall?)  Well now they are topped with red sparkly candles.  Merry and bright!

Christmas Candlestick ToppersOh, and allow me to introduce you to our Elf On The Shelf, Holly.  She arrived from the North Pole a few weeks ago.

Holly Our Elf On The ShelfAnnabelle is in LOVE.  Every morning she runs downstairs to find where Holly has landed after her nightly visit to Santa.  She knows the number one Elf On The Shelf rule is to never touch your elf…or she will lose her magic.  She takes this rule VERY seriously.  I’ve caught her a few times talking to Holly and telling her all the good things she did during the day and asking Holly to please tell Santa.  So unbelievably, magically, sweet.

The Stockings Were Hung...Have you finished decorating your house for the holidays?

P.S. I’ve linked up our Christmas mantel to Finding Silver Pennies’ Mantels Link Party.  Head on over there to link up your mantel or to get some merry inspiration!
