Annabelle’s 3rd Birthday Party Invitation

Tomorrow my little love turns three.  (Seriously, when did that happen?!)  So party planning is in full swing for a little family bash we’re throwing for her on Saturday.

Her first birthday party was a Garden Party.  Her second, a Sesame Street themed affair.  For this year’s theme, because Annabelle and I frequentley like to get crafty together, we decided on an Art Party.

AB Invite FrontI’ve been busy planning lots of fun artsy activities for Annabelle and all her little cousins.  The weather currently calls for rain, so I am trying to remain calm as visions of 10 paintbrush-weilding kiddies running around my house, dance through my brain.  The picture I used on the front of her invite is her painting a Christmas gift for daddy.  And her little paint covered hands on the back of the invite are whipping up some handmade thank you notes.

AB Invite BackCan’t wait to share all the fun birthday details with you!

Last Day Of School Sign

You may remember that way back in September, when Annabelle started school for the first time, I made a sign to take her picture with each year on the first day of school.

I made it dry erase so I could personalize the bottom each year with the date, her age, grade, etc.

First Day Of School With PersonalizationOn Friday, her last day of school for the year, I thought it would be cute to take a last day of school picture, to see just how much she’s grown over the course of a school year. So I took out her First Day Of School Sign and simply crossed out the First and wrote in Last. Here she is heading to her last day of school. (The blocked out portion says the name of her school).

The Yoga Babies Are Turning THREE!

If you’ve been following my blog then you know all about the Yoga Mamas.  My sweet mommy friends.  My sanity.  My fellow life-rafters.

When we first met, our babies were a few months old.  And now they are (incredibly) turning three. Together, we have watched our babies grow.  As a group we’ve cheered on their first steps and marveled as they each grew into unique little people.

Our babies are all summer 2010 kiddies, the oldest being born in May and the youngest the very last day of July.  There are 11 original yoga babies but in three short years the number has almost doubled to a staggering 20 yoga babies.

When the original eleven turned one, each mama threw their own 1st birthday party.  But last year, for their second birthdays, we decided to throw them a joint birthday party.  A lovely tradition was born.

This year’s party was at a local farm.

Ivan and Stella YB Party 2013Prior to the party we put the kids’ names in a hat and each mama bought a gift for one child.  Of course no party would be complete without an attempt at the ever-challenging-group-shot.

Group Shot YB Party 2013It is a gift to be able to celebrate our children together.  I feel so blessed to have found this amazing group of women and to be a part of their children’s lives.

Organizing Tip Of The Week: Accordion Folder

Tip #6: Use an accordion folder to organize receipts, gift cards, current invites and coupons.

An accordion folder is the perfect way to easily organize receipts, gift cards, invitations and coupons.  Not only is it contained and neat, but it is also portable.  To read more about how I file these items in an accordion folder (and why I love it so!) you can check out this post.

Organizing Tip Of The Week: Hangers Help Purge

Tip #5: Flip your hangers.

This little tip is one I’ve written about before, but I find it so helpful that I thought it was worth another shout out for anyone who missed it.

A great way to see which items in your closet you TRULY wear, is to use the hanger trick.  The idea is simple.  You go into your closet and turn all your hangers the opposite way, by hooking them UNDER.  So instead of this…

You switch all your hangers around to hang like this…

Then after you’ve worn and washed an item and are ready to hang it back up in your closet, you hang it back the correct way.  After a set period of time you will clearly be able to see all the items you never wear, (i.e. the items still on hangers hooked under).  Easy, right?  And it makes purging a snap.

A great time to flip your hangers is the start of a new season.  Then when the weather changes you go through your closet.  Any items from the season that’s ending that are still on hangers hooked under, were never worn.  Then you purge, my friends.  Purge, purge, purge!

Father’s Day “Cupcakes”

Looking for something sweet to whip up your BBQ-loving dad?  Check out these “cupcakes” that I made last Father’s Day (they are actually brownies made in muffin pans.)  I found the recipe for them here.

Ready to get your grill on?  Ok, here we go.

First, we have “Pork Chops” made from molded Caramel Creams with black food coloring “grill marks”…

Then some “Chicken Shish Kabobs” made from Carmel Creams and Dots Candies…

And last but not least, Hot Tamale “Hot Dogs”.

They were super easy and fun to make.  And I happen to think they look pretty hilarious.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful, love-filled Father’s Day on Sunday!

xo,

Kelly
